이런 목장교회가 되기를 기도합니다 (살전 1:1–10)

지난 금요일 새벽, 데살로니가 교회에 대한 말씀을 전하며 우리 교회와 각 목장교회에 대한 간절한 소원이 마음에 생겼습니다. 오늘은 그 새벽 설교의 요약을 함께 나누고자 합니다. (살전1:1-10)

데살로니가 교회는 복음의 본질에 충실한 교회였습니다.그들의 신앙은 말로만이 아니라 능력과 성령과 확신으로 나타났습니다. 교회가 성령의 능력으로 충만할 때, 불신자들도 그 안에서 하나님의 임재와 실제적인 변화를 경험하게 됩니다.

살로니가 교회에는 세 가지 분명한 영적 열매가 있었습니다.

“너희의 믿음의 역사와 사랑의 수고와 우리 주 예수 그리스도에 대한 소망의 인내를 우리 하나님 아버지 앞에서 끊임없이 기억함이니.” [살전 1:3]

첫째, 믿음의 역사가 있었습니다.

그들의 시대는 고난과 환란이 많았지만, 살아 있는 믿음이 모든 도전을 이기게 했습니다. 우리 목장 안에도 이러한 믿음의 역사가 필요합니다.고난 속에서도 기도의 응답이 일어날 때, 목장 안에 생명의 기운이 돕니다.

둘째, 사랑의 수고가 있었습니다.

믿음만 강조되면 연약한 자들이 소외될 수 있습니다.그러나 사랑은 믿음을 완전하게 하며, 조건 없는 희생과 포기하지 않는 헌신이 교회를 세웁니다.

셋째, 소망의 인내, 곧 재림 신앙이 있었습니다.

사랑도 때로 지칠 때가 있지 천국과 재림의 소망이 사랑을 다시 일으킵니다.그 소망이 끝을 바라보게 하고, 포기하지 않게 합니다.

이 글을 읽는 각 목장 안에 2025년 가을을 맞이하여 이러한 열매들이 주렁주렁 맺히는 목장교회가 되기를 간절히 기도합니다.

A Prayer for Our Cell Churches

(1 Thessalonians 1:1–10)

During last Friday’s dawn service, as I preached about the church in Thessalonica, a deep longing was stirred in my heart—for our church and every cell group to become like that church. Today, I want to share a brief summary of that message. (1 Thess. 1:1–10)

The Thessalonian church was faithful to the essence of the gospel. heir faith was not expressed in words alone, but was demonstrated through power, the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction. When a church is filled with the power of the Spirit, even unbelievers who step inside can sense God’s presence and experience true transformation.

The Thessalonian believers bore three distinct spiritual fruits. “We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” [1 Thessalonians 1:3]

First, there was the work of faith.

They lived in a time of great hardship and persecution, yet their living faith overcame every challenge. We, too, need such a work of faith within our cell groups.When prayers are answered in the midst of trials, the breath of life begins to flow among us.

Second, there was the labor of love.

If we focus on faith alone, the weak may be left behind.But love completes faith. Unconditional sacrifice and unrelenting commitment build and sustain the church.

Third, there was the endurance of hope—the hope of Christ’s return.

Even love can grow weary at times,but the hope of heaven revives our love and gives us courage again.This hope helps us see the end with joy and keeps us from giving up.

As we enter the fall of 2025,my prayer is that every cell group reading this will bear these same spiritual fruits—faith that works, love that labors, and hope that endures for the glory of God.
