하나님 나라가 주는 힘

이번 주 베트남에서 청각장애인을 위해 사역하시는 선교사님들과 사역자분들과 짧은 시간을 함께 보내게 되었습니다. 오늘은 그곳에서 깨닫게 된 몇 가지를 나누고자 합니다.

첫째, 청각장애인 사역은 메시아 사역의 중요한 부분임을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 왜 하나님께서 이곳으로 저를 부르셨을까 생각하며 기도할 때, 이 사역이 예수님의 메시아적 사역과 깊이 연결되어 있음을 알게 되었습니다.

"그 때에 맹인의 눈이 밝을 것이며 못 듣는 사람의 귀가 열릴 것이며" [사 35:5]

세례 요한이 예수님께서 참 메시아이신지 묻게 했을 때, 주님은 이러한 징조들을 말씀하셨습니다. 세상에는 육적으로뿐 아니라 영적으로 듣지 못하는 사람들이 많습니다. 복음은 그들의 귀를 열어 주고, 그들의 입이 되어 주는 것입니다.

둘째, 육체의 장애와 상관없이 하나님의 꿈은 이루어집니다. 이곳의 성도들은 경제적으로 넉넉하지도 않고 사회적으로 소외된 사람들이었지만, 그들의 가장 큰 꿈은 복음을 전하는 것이었습니다. 공산주의의 핍박 속에서도 복음을 전하고 교회를 세워 가는 모습을 보며, 하나님 나라의 소망이 모든 장애를 뛰어넘게 하는 힘임을 보게 되었습니다.

셋째, 포기하지 않으면 하나님은 남은 자를 통해 반드시 일하십니다. 이 사역은 원래 중국에서 시작되었지만 핍박으로 인해 캄보디아와 베트남으로 옮겨지게 되었습니다. 사모님께서 몇 년 전 암으로 소천하시고 많은 어려움이 있었지만, 생명을 드리는 제자들과 함께 그 사역은 다시 꽃피고 있었습니다.

저희 교회도 이제 아가페 축제를 앞두고 있습니다. 끝까지 영혼 구원을 포기하지 않고, 한 영혼이라도 주님께 인도하는 교회가 되기를 간절히 기도합니다.

The Power of the Kingdom of God

This week, I had the opportunity to spend a short time in Vietnam with missionaries and ministry workers serving the deaf community. Today, I would like to share a few things I learned there.

First, I realized that ministry to the deaf is an important part of the Messianic ministry of Jesus. As I wondered why God had called me to this place and listened to His voice, I came to understand that this ministry is deeply connected to the work of the Messiah.

"Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped." Isaiah 35:5

When John the Baptist sent his disciples to ask whether Jesus was truly the Messiah, Jesus pointed to these very signs. There are many people in this world who cannot hear physically as well as spiritually. The Gospel opens their ears and becomes a voice for them.

Second, God's dream is fulfilled regardless of physical limitations. The people here were not economically wealthy and were often socially marginalized, yet their greatest desire was to share the Gospel. Even under communist persecution, they continued to preach the Gospel and plant churches. Seeing their joy reminded me that the hope of the Kingdom of God gives strength to overcome every obstacle.

Third, if we do not give up, God will surely work through the remnant.

This ministry originally began in China, but because of persecution it moved to Cambodia and Vietnam. A missionary named S faithfully continued the deaf ministry and seminary work. Although his wife passed away from cancer a few years ago and many hardships followed, the vision has blossomed again through disciples who are willing to give their lives for the Gospel.

Our church is also preparing for the Agape Festival in the coming weeks. I pray that we would never give up on winning souls and become a church that leads even one more soul to the Lord.
