CRC 교단을 위해 기도해 주세요

교회는 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 아름다운 선물입니다. 예수 그리스도의 피로

세워진 교회는 구원받은 성도들의 어머니로서, 우리의 신앙을 건강하게 자라게 하는

중요한 역할을 합니다. 그렇다면, 교단은 어떤 역할을 할까요? 교단은 마치 ‘교회의

어머니’로서, 각 지역 교회들이 진리 위에 바르게 서고 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록

돕는 사명을 감당합니다.

저희 CRC(The Christian Reformed Church, 개혁장로교회)는 네덜란드에서 시작된

보수 개혁 신앙 위에 세워진 교단입니다. 저희 교회도 개척과 함께 이 교단에

가입하였고, 지금까지 많은 은혜와 도움을 받았습니다. 이제는 저희 교회도 성장하여

교단을 섬길 수 있게 되었고, 하나님의 은혜로 웨일즈 총회를 통해 한인 목사님들을

섬기는 기회도 얻게 되었습니다.

한인 교회가 교단을 위해 할 수 있는 몇 가지 섬김의 방법을 나누고자 합니다.

1. 기도로 섬기기

교단은 지역 교회를 지켜주는 역할을 하지만, 미국 교단은 한국 교회에 비해 기도의

힘이 약한 편입니다. 교단 지도자들과 전체 교단을 위해 한인 교회들의 간절한 기도가

꼭 필요합니다.

2. 사역 확장에 동참하기

우리 교단에는 훌륭한 목회 프로그램들이 많이 있습니다. 예를 들면, 커피브레이크나

디모데 훈련 같은 말씀 중심의 도구들이 있습니다. 저는 선교지에서 디모데 훈련을

통해 많은 사역자들을 섬겼고, 이번 여름에도 훈련을 인도할 예정입니다. 또한

주중에는 커피브레이크 사역도 시작하려 합니다.

3. 재정적 협력하기

교단도 사역을 지속하기 위해 재정이 필요합니다. 최근 교단이 동성애 금지법을

성경적으로 지키려 하면서, 이에 반대하는 교회들이 탈퇴하여 재정적인 어려움을

겪고 있습니다. 작지만 우리가 정성껏 협력할 때 교단은 큰 힘을 얻게 됩니다.

지금 저는 뉴저지 허드슨 노회 대표로 교단 총회(General Synod)에 참석하고

있습니다. 총회는 매년 한 번 모여 교단의 진리를 어떻게 성경적으로 지켜 나갈지를

함께 토론하고 결정하는 시간입니다. 이번 총회의 주요 이슈는 온라인 교회의

정체성과 안락사에 대한 성경적 고찰입니다. 이 중요한 논의들을 위해 많은 기도를

부탁드립니다.

Please Pray for the CRC Denomination

The church is a beautiful gift from the Lord. Built on the blood of Jesus Christ, the

church serves as the mother of the saved and nurtures our faith toward maturity.

Then, what is the role of the denomination? It acts as a “mother to the mother,”

supporting local churches by providing pastoral guidance and helping them grow in

truth and health.

Our denomination, the Christian Reformed Church (CRC), was founded on conserva-

tive Reformed faith and has its roots in the Netherlands. Our church joined this

denomination at its beginning and received much help and support. By God’s grace,

our church has grown to the point where we can now serve the denomination, and

we’ve recently had the privilege of serving Korean pastors through the Welsh Synod.

There are several ways Korean churches can support the denomination:

1. Through Prayer

While the denomination protects and guides local churches, American denominations

generally lack the deep prayer life often seen in Korean churches. The leadership and

the denomination as a whole deeply need the prayers of Korean churches.

2. By Expanding Ministry

The CRC provides excellent ministry tools such as Coffee Break and Timothy

Leadership Training, which are deeply rooted in the Word of God. I’ve used the

Timothy program to train many leaders on the mission field, and I plan to continue

that this summer. I’m also preparing to lead a Coffee Break study during the week.

3. Through Financial Support

Like any ministry, the denomination also needs financial support. Recently, as the

CRC has stood firmly on biblical truth by affirming its stance against same-sex

relationships, some churches supporting a more liberal view have withdrawn, causing

financial strain. Even small contributions from churches like ours can be a great

encouragement.

Currently, I’m attending the annual General Synod as a representative of the Hudson

Classis in New Jersey. This gathering is a time for us to biblically discuss and decide

how we will uphold the truth. Two key issues this year are the theological understand-

ing of online church and a biblical view on euthanasia. Your earnest prayers would be
