한 해의 감사를 어떻게 해야 할까요?

하나님은 이스라엘에게 절기를 주셨습니다. 그래서 우리는 그것을 단순히 이스라엘 민족의 절기가 아니라 하나님의 절기라고 부릅니다. 하나님은 이 절기들 속에 자신을 계시하시고, 구속의 비밀을 드러내시는 신비한 섭리를 담아 놓으셨습니다.

이스라엘의 7대 절기에는 예수 그리스도의 모든 구속 사역에 대한 그림자와 예표가 담겨 있습니다. 그중에서도 특히 중요한 3대 절기가 있는데, 하나님은 이 절기를 통해 자신의 백성에게 기억할 것과 감사할 것을 가르치셨습니다.

다가오는 추수감사절은 이스라엘의 *장막절(초막절)*을 의미합니다. 장막절은 하나님께서 이스라엘을 광야에서 보호하시고 인도하신 은혜를 기억하는 절기였습니다. 그렇다면 오늘 우리는 이 장막절의 정신을 어떻게 감사 속에 담아 드릴 수 있을까요?

1. 생명의 씨를 주신 하나님을 기억하며 감사해야 합니다

장막절은 수확의 기쁨을 넘어, 그 모든 생명의 근원이 하나님께 있음을 고백하는 절기였습니다. 우리의 삶 속에 뿌려진 은혜의 씨, 믿음의 씨, 말씀의 씨를 돌아보며 하나님께 감사해야 합니다.

2. 몸을 드립니다

감사는 단순한 말이나 감정이 아니라 삶의 헌신으로 드러나야 합니다. 하나님께 받은 은혜를 기억하며, 우리의 몸과 시간과 열정을 하나님께 다시 올려 드리는 것이 장막절의 정신입니다.

3. 예물을 드립니다

절기마다 하나님 앞에 예물을 드린 것은 단순한 의식이 아니라, “모든 것을 하나님께 받았다”는 신앙의 고백이었습니다. 감사의 마음을 담아 예물을 드릴 때, 하나님께서 주신 은혜를 다시 확인하게 됩니다. 절기의 의미를 알고 드리는 감사는 다음 세대가 믿음의 뿌리를 깊이 내리게 하는 귀한 축복이 될 것입니다. 다음 주일은 선교보고와 함께 뜻 깊은 감사의 예물을 온세대와 함께 드리겠습니다.

How Should We Give Thanks at the Close of the Year?

God gave Israel the sacred festivals. Therefore, we do not regard them merely as Israel’s festivals, but as the Lord’s festivals. Within these appointed times, God revealed Himself and placed the mysterious providence through which He discloses the secrets of redemption.

The seven major festivals of Israel contain the foreshadowing and symbolism of the complete redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Among these, there are three particularly significant festivals through which God taught His people what to remember and how to give thanks.

The upcoming Thanksgiving Sunday corresponds to the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). The Feast of Tabernacles was a time to remember how God protected and guided Israel in the wilderness. Then how can we embody the spirit of this feast in our thanksgiving today?

1. We give thanks, remembering that God is the giver of the seed of life

The Feast of Tabernacles was more than a celebration of harvest; it was a confes- sion that all life originates from God. As we reflect on the seeds of grace, faith, and the Word that have been sown in our lives, we give thanks to Him.

2. We present our bodies

Thanksgiving is not merely words or emotions—it is shown through a life of dedica- tion. Remembering the grace we have received, we offer our bodies, time, and passion to God. This is the true spirit of the Feast of Tabernacles.

3. We bring our offerings

Bringing offerings during the festivals was not just a ritual; it was a confession of faith that everything we have comes from God. When we present our offerings with gratitude, we reaffirm the grace that God has given us. Understanding the meaning of these festivals and giving thanks accordingly becomes a precious blessing that helps the next generation lay deep roots in their faith. Next Sunday, we will join as one generation to offer meaningful thanksgiving offerings along with our mission report.
