한 영혼을 향한 우리의 태도

이번 주 금요일부터 예수문화 복음축제가 시작됩니다. 목회의 마음 한가운데에는 늘 한 가지 간절함이 있습니다. “단 한 영혼이라도 이 자리에 와서 주님을 만나게 하소서.” 아마 이것이 바로 예수님의 마음일 것입니다.

예수님은 언제나 한 사람을 바라보셨습니다. 무리 속에서도 한 영혼을 발견하셨고, 잃어버린 영혼 하나를 위해 길을 멈추셨습니다. 그런데 오늘 우리가 살아가는 시대는 한 사람을 교회로 초대하는 것조차 쉽지 않은 시대가 되었습니다. 사람들의 마음은 닫혀 있고, 복음을 전하는 일은 점점 더 부담스럽게 느껴집니다. 그럼에도 우리 주변에는 여전히 하나님을 만나야 할 영혼들이 많습니다. 문제는 세상이 아니라, 한 영혼을 향한 우리의 태도입니다.

첫째, 영혼을 품어야 합니다. 전도는 프로그램이 아니라 마음에서 시작됩니다. 내 주변 사람들을 바라볼 때 “저 사람이 꼭 주님을 만났으면 좋겠다”는 안타까움이 있어야 합니다. 영혼을 향한 눈물이 사라질 때 전도의 능력도 사라집니다.

둘째, 구해야 합니다. 예수님은 영혼 구원을 위해 기도하셨습니다. 기도는 사람의 마음을 움직이는 것이 아니라 하나님의 마음을 움직이는 것입니다. 기도하면 하나님께서 만남의 문을 여시고, 준비된 영혼을 만나게 하십니다. 전도는 말의 기술보다 먼저 무릎의 싸움입니다.

셋째, 찾아야 합니다. 기도만 하고 기다려서는 안 됩니다. 예수님은 잃어버린 영혼을 찾아 직접 걸어가셨습니다. 이 마을, 저 마을 다니시며 사람들을 만나셨습니다. 우리도 움직여야 합니다. 전화 한 통, 안부 한마디, 작은 관심 하나가 한 영혼을 살리는 시작이 될 수 있습니다.

넷째, 두드려야 합니다. 주저하지 말고 마음의 문을 두드리십시오. 때로는 따뜻한 차 한 잔으로, 작은 선물 하나로, 진심 어린 식사 한 끼로 마음의 문이 열립니다. 그리고 무엇보다 “같이 가봅시다”, “한 번 와보세요”라고 말할 수 있는 용기가 필요합니다. 초청은 거창한 것이 아니라 사랑의 표현입니다.

이번 5일 동안 우리는 많은 사람들을 만나게 될 것입니다. 마태복음의 말씀처럼 “와 보라” 말할 수 있는 믿음의 사람이 되기를 바랍니다. 여러분의 작은 한마디가 누군가의 영원을 바꿀 수 있습니다. 잃어버린 한 영혼이 이번 예수문화 복음축제를 통해 반드시 주님을 만나게 되기를 간절히 기도합니다. 사랑하고 축복합니다.

Our Attitude Toward One Soul

Starting this Friday, the Jesus Culture Gospel Festival will begin. At the center of a pastor’s heart, there is always one earnest desire: “Lord, let even one soul come to this place and meet You.” I believe this is also the heart of Jesus.

Jesus always looked at individuals. Even among the crowds, He noticed one soul, and for one lost person, He was willing to stop and reach out. Yet today, we live in a time when even inviting one person to church is not easy. People’s hearts are often closed, and sharing the gospel can feel more burdensome than before. Nevertheless, there are still many souls around us who need to encounter God.

The real issue is not the world, but our attitude toward one soul.

First, we must embrace souls with our hearts. Evangelism does not begin with a program; it begins with compassion. When we look at the people around us, there should be a sincere longing in us: “I truly hope this person meets the Lord.” When tears for souls disappear, the power of evangelism also fades.

Second, we must pray.Jesus prayed for the salvation of souls. Prayer does not move people’s hearts first—it moves the heart of God. When we pray, God opens doors for divine appointments and leads us to prepared hearts. Evangelism is not primarily a battle of words, but a battle on our knees.

Third, we must go and seek.We cannot simply pray and wait. Jesus personally went out to seek the lost. He traveled from village to village, meeting people where they were. We also must move. A phone call, a simple greeting, or a small act of kindness can become the beginning of saving a soul.

Fourth, we must knock. Do not hesitate to knock on the doors of people’s hearts. Sometimes a warm cup of tea, a small gift, or a sincere meal together can open someone’s heart. And above all, we need the courage to say, “Come with me,” or “Why don’t you come and see?” An invitation is not something grand—it is an expression of love.

During these five days, we will meet many people. Like the words in the Gospel of Matthew, may we become people of faith who can say, “Come and see.” Your small word of invitation may change someone’s eternity.

I sincerely pray that through this Jesus Culture Gospel Festival, one lost soul will surely come to meet the Lord.
